Dress Making Report: A Spring Photoshoot

Last month I created a simply elegant bohemian wedding dress for a Spring Photoshoot with Michelle Liane Photography. 

My favourite thing about these collaboration shoots, is that I am given a rough idea and can run with it. Being creative is one of the best things life can offer, the joy I feel when it all comes together is just the greatest thing!

Working with so many other amazing creatives is so worth while. You will see that the beauty that comes from each of us illuminates through the moments that were captured in the shoot.

Canada's Bridal Show

Hello Sunshine,

How grateful am I! On January 6th - 8th I had the pleasure of being apart of Canada's Bridal Show for the very first time. THIS has been the biggest show in Canada running now for 32 years! It was a complete success my friends. To all those who joined us, a huge thank you. 

My team was unbelievable, getting the word out about A.M.E.G. Designs and helping each women get one step closer to her dream dress. I have emails pouring in with requests for quotes and so many beauties have been added to the list, YAY!

Each person in my life leading up to and during the show were amazing too! Getting me closer to my vision and checking in every day, thank you to all my supporters, each of you are so wonderful.

There was a contest for a custom head piece or veil with a very lucky, excited winner who is now thinking of all the ideas she can so we can create something beautiful for her special day! Each dress shown in the pictures were a hit! I debuted a plus size model (the only one at the show), so every women could really see the difference in size and what A.M.E.G. Designs really offers. A perfect fit for every body! 

Overall I have no complaints, meeting so many wonderful vendors as well as brides, I am so excited to see what this year has to unfold. Wishing you a very Happy New Year lovelies!

Dress Making Report: A Fall Inspired Wedding Shoot

At the end of August, I did an amazing collaboration with quite a few talented ladies. This Fall elopement shoot was incredible. We just got to the location just after a storm passed at 8am, it was a bit chilly that morning and very windy. But as we all arrived and got every thing set up, Models dressed and camera ready. It got warm, blue skies appeared and the sun created such great light peaking through the woods.

Claireville Conservation in Brampton, Ontario is like a dream. Especially for a photo shoot, we had several landscapes to choose. From rolling Hills to a rocky road and even into the woods, no wonder we all had such a fabulous day! 

The couple were gorgeous and really so in love, which truly takes your breath away with such intimate moments. I was lucky to be apart of something so very special. 

Creating this dress was really wonderful, from the first designs to the day of the shoot. It is romantic and flowing plus a little flirty underneath the beautiful veil like removable skirt. I love the way the wind carries and fills it up in some of the gorgeous pictures by Roxana Silva Photography.

Dress Making Report: Stylized Wedding Shoot

 

A few months ago I created a dress for a rustic stylized wedding shoot. A great collaboration of local businesses coming together thanks to Michelle Liane, an amazing photographer that brought her vision alive with through local businesses. The shoot was fantastic, set in Caledon, ON, she used the elements of the earth, and with the help of the wind shot some beautifully breath taking pictures.

From the moment this dress was together, I fell in love! Every time I walked into my living room and saw it, this rush of excitement went through my veins. Start to finish this was a fun, whimsical piece to create. Thank you so much Michelle Liane Photography for including me in this fabulous experience.

Dress Making Report: A Fun and Flirty dress

This dress was so lovely to create, from finding the fabric to piecing it together. I loved every minute of it. The lace overlay is gorgeous and the sleeves give it an elegance you just can not deny. To be worn for two weddings, my client was so pleased with the outcome, she had to put it on again when she got home from picking it up. I am so happy to help her illuminate the room with her presence in this beautiful piece. I can not wait to see the photographs.

Dresses should be made to be versatile as often as possible. I believe that with this one you can dress it up or down and wear it all throughout the year.

Every time you wear a dress it should help you to feel radiant and free. Free to be exactly yourself and comfortable throughout your entire day or event. I know what it feels like to be uncomfortable in your own skin and it helps so much to wear a piece of clothing that helps dissolve those feelings. A.M.E.G. Spring and Summer Events!

My oh my, spring and summer events of all shapes and sizes are upon us. From proms, weddings and fashion shows I am starting to get very busy with custom dress orders! A few of these orders are very dear to my heart, as they are to be apart of one of my best friends weddings in Havana. But stay tuned for later on in the summer for sneak peeks of all those lovely creations.

As for right now, I am creating dresses for weddings, grade 8 graduations and fashion shows. I love that each of these dresses are so different and I can really have some fun. Not to mention my wonderful clients that I get to work with. I will be posting more of these with in the next few months. Really, I just wanted to share because I am so excited to help illuminate these women for these events with each piece. I know they will all go to their events and light up the whole room! This is my whole goal, my reason for being a custom dress designer, to relieve whatever insecurity she may have about her body and watch how radiant she becomes in her perfect bespoke fit dress. All women deserve this, and if I can do this for even just one, well then I have done my job.

Here is the wedding dress from beginning to end, you saw all the parts in the middle in 'Dress Making Report: A Wedding Dress', this is the short version.  Everything starts with an idea, and is amazing when it comes together into something unbelievable.  My client was in love with it and can't wait to be able to wear it to other fun places.

A Mini Wedding Dress

The bride in which I am making the wedding dress for had a 'High Tea' bridal shower with big sun hats and amazingly creative facinators. There were loads of great games and an awesome craft project as well, that I could not wait to sink some pins into.  This was a great shower, Congrats Mike & Meghan!!
