Dress Making Report: 1970's Secret Garden Shoot

As those of you who follow me know, I love my collaboration shoots! It's great to be able to get a team of incredible creatives together and bring to life moments like these. THIS dress was so much fun to create. From finding this perfect lace, which challenged me because I had never worked with it before. It had quite a stretch to it and with the beautiful lines it has, patience and a good eye really needed to be used for this one. I wanted to do a 1970's piece because I think it is so wonderful to create from different eras, so be prepared to see some other staple pieces from specific times. The sleeves, neckline and hemline make this dress exactly what it is meant to be, timeless. Take a gander at what our amazing team did together and with only 15 minutes of light on the day of the shoot.

Dress Making Report: A Spring Photoshoot

Last month I created a simply elegant bohemian wedding dress for a Spring Photoshoot with Michelle Liane Photography

My favourite thing about these collaboration shoots, is that I am given a rough idea and can run with it. Being creative is one of the best things life can offer, the joy I feel when it all comes together is just the greatest thing!

Working with so many other amazing creatives is so worth while. You will see that the beauty that comes from each of us illuminates through the moments that were captured in the shoot.

Dress Making Report: I LOOOOOVE Gold!

Twelve yards of sparkly golden tulle was spread all over my studio floor as I began to create this ahhhhhmazing skirt for a photo shoot at the end of January. This soft yet BOLD fabric left an imprint on me ❤. Everything in my house is now covered in golden sparkles, but who doesn't love a little bit of that kind of dust!

The shoot was fantastic, I love working with like minded and creative people! Whimsical with an edge, this skirt was brought to life as the model put it on. Her make-up done by Sacha was fierce and beautiful, she has an incredible way of enhancing everything she touches. Thank you so much for including me and I can't wait to do a little something more with this golden beauty.

Dress Making Report: A Fall Inspired Wedding Shoot

At the end of August, I did an amazing collaboration with quite a few talented ladies. This Fall elopement shoot was incredible. We just got to the location just after a storm passed at 8am, it was a bit chilly that morning and very windy. But as we all arrived and got every thing set up, Models dressed and camera ready. It got warm, blue skies appeared and the sun created such great light peaking through the woods.

Claireville Conservation in Brampton, Ontario is like a dream. Especially for a photo shoot, we had several landscapes to choose. From rolling Hills to a rocky road and even into the woods, no wonder we all had such a fabulous day!

The couple were gorgeous and really so in love, which truly takes your breath away with such intimate moments. I was lucky to be apart of something so very special.

Creating this dress was really wonderful, from the first designs to the day of the shoot. It is romantic and flowing plus a little flirty underneath the beautiful veil like removable skirt. I love the way the wind carries and fills it up in some of the gorgeous pictures by Roxana Silva Photography.

I hope this inspires you and fills you with so much joy!

Events: Bella Serata

Our fashion event 'Bella Serata' went fabulously! I am so grateful to each of the women who came out and enjoyed a night in fantastic fashion, accessories and meet and greet with your designer. It was fun, flirty and  floral!  All these dresses were so fun to create and I am so glad I was able to share them with all of you. Thank you so much to my team, they were as always amazing and I am so blessed!

I know what it feels like to be uncomfortable in my own skin, I had body image issues almost for as long as I remember. From 13 – 16 I struggled with anorexia and bulimia, I disliked myself and never felt good no matter what I wore. I also am a recovering over eater and work every day on loving myself even when I fall off.  It has actually only been about 3 or 4 months that I’ve loved my body, and treat it well. I also now know very much what pieces fit my frame and allow me to feel amazing every day. Although, it does help when I create something specifically for myself. I look in the mirror and say ‘girl you got this!’ and go out into the world being the best that I can be, to share my light and story. That is why I do this, to help women and young girls feel comfortable in their own skin, bringing out the best so they, (you) can take on the world and be the force you are meant to be. Whether it is a day at the office or your wedding day, we can all light up this world, because ladies, ‘you got this!’

Photo Shoot: The Batman Dress

I am so very excited to present these photographs to you all, 'The Batman Dress' was created for a client in 2013, she did a shoot wearing it and the photographer sent me some amazing pictures!

This is one of my favouite pieces that I have created thus far ! It fit her perfectly and was exactly what she wanted the dress to be. Those are the two main goals I have when creating any piece.

Batman is my very favouite super hero and it is also my clients, both of us having that in common made this dress so much more fun to make. This was the first time I used a patterned fabric, I loved placing the joker in the middle of the bodice piece and making sure all of the characters were seen. She fell in love instantly when she first saw it, as it was a surprise gift from her friends for her birthday, she was so happy!

I am so glad to present these photos and hope you enjoy!!
