Dress Making Report: Grade 8 Grad

I have had the pleasure of working with some lovely young ladies. They're ideas. options and ideas have been so wonderful to create. I have been able to add to my skill list and take on some obstacles that were fun and exciting. When putting a dress together, it is so much like a puzzle, having to be patient and know that I can always figure out a more difficult one. I am so happy that I learn from each client and dress that I create, which is one of the very reasons I loooooove what I do!

I can not wait to see these amazing girls all dolled up, while the complete a big chapter in their lives. Next is high school and that is a whole new ball game! Hopefully I can see how much they have grown by the time prom comes, (sorry Moms, not rushing it!). I've seen how they shine and I am so happy to be apart of it.

Dress Making Report: A Fun and Flirty dress

This dress was so lovely to create, from finding the fabric to piecing it together. I loved every minute of it. The lace overlay is gorgeous and the sleeves give it an elegance you just can not deny. To be worn for two weddings, my client was so pleased with the outcome, she had to put it on again when she got home from picking it up. I am so happy to help her illuminate the room with her presence in this beautiful piece. I can not wait to see the photographs.

Dresses should be made to be versatile as often as possible. I believe that with this one you can dress it up or down and wear it all throughout the year.

Spring and Summer Events!

My oh my, spring and summer events of all shapes and sizes are upon us. From proms, weddings and fashion shows I am starting to get very busy with custom dress orders! A few of these orders are very dear to my heart, as they are to be apart of one of my best friends weddings in Havana. But stay tuned for later on in the summer for sneak peeks of all those lovely creations.

As for right now, I am creating dresses for weddings, grade 8 graduations and fashion shows. I love that each of these dresses are so different and I can really have some fun. Not to mention my wonderful clients that I get to work with. I will be posting more of these with in the next few months. Really, I just wanted to share because I am so excited to help illuminate these women for these events with each piece. I know they will all go to their events and light up the whole room! This is my whole goal, my reason for being a custom dress designer, to relieve whatever insecurity she may have about her body and watch how radiant she becomes in her perfect bespoke fit dress. All women deserve this, and if I can do this for even just one, well then I have done my job.

Dress Making Report: Prom Dresses 2016

My friends, A.M.E.G. Designs is now accepting Prom dress orders! My very favourite part of creating custom dresses, is when a client tries that dress on for the last time and it fits perfectly. They light up and are truly present. I get to witness their light, the beauty within them. They spin around and smile so big they could honestly light up the world. The ultimate goal for me is to see this light, that joy! I am so excited to create custom pieces for such a wonderful time in a young girls life. That turning point from girl to young woman. Dress Making Report: The Prom Dress

I recently made a prom dress for a delightful young girl. It was an absolute joy for me to create this dress from scratch for her. I had never done any draping before, but I did it and it turned out beautifully.
